The Causes and Effects of Chronic Headaches

Everyone gets a headache at some point in his or her life but dealing with chronic headaches can be a very stressful and debilitating condition. Caused by so many different things, it can be difficult to determine the exact source, making curing them nearly impossible in some cases. Symptoms and activities before, during and after such an attack are at times the only way to determine their cause, effect and treatment.

Causes

Chronic headaches can be caused by certain behavior or actions that allow stress to tighten the muscles of the neck, shoulders and back, leading to stress headaches developing. These will occur every time the stressful situation occurs, becoming almost psychological in its frequency and intensity. Being around certain foods or chemicals can cause headaches for hours afterwards, with the patient never realizing that their presence was the cause. Testing for allergies would then be the first step to treat that type of headache.

Physical ailments can also have headaches as its main symptom, as well as its potential cause. Someone that has suffered an injury to an arm or leg can begin to unconsciously tailor their movements so that they avoid triggering any pain associated with that injury and in doing so, put added stress onto joints and muscles while compensating that normally would not have happened. This can lead to spinal maladjustment or a pinched nerve, resulting in severe cervical pain and headaches from the physical stress.

People known to abuse substances like alcohol and drugs will often develop severe headaches when they try to abstain, because the chemical they have become dependent on are no longer present, causing the body to feel as if it is starving, with headaches becoming the prevalent symptom.

Avoiding Misdiagnosis

A continuing problem when it comes to diagnosing headaches is treating it with pain medications without uncovering the true source of the pain. This can lead to too much dependence on the medication, without having any true effect of the condition. One way to avoid misdiagnosis is for the patient to keep a headache journal during treatment, so that the doctor can see everything that occurred in their lives before the attack, how long it lasted and what the patient did immediately afterwards that did not bring on another attack. This can be especially helpful when the headache is actually brought on by what can be termed allergic triggers or when something within their regular routines may be contributing to their illness, like stress or psychological traumas.

Treatments

The only effective treatments for chronic headaches will be those that eliminate or solve the root cause of the problem. For stressful situations that bring on headaches, relaxation techniques, for example, will have more of an effect on the headache than prescribed medication. Lifestyle changes can make allergy based headaches a thing of the past, while chiropractic treatments will remove the physical condition causing the headache to occur. At its heart, the only true treatment for this condition is honest dialogue between doctor and patient.

Lack Of Sleep Side Effects Will Change Your Lifestyle

Sleep deprivation is one of the most common side effects of our modern lives. There is a great saying that goes around, and it says that in 24 hours a man should work eight hours, play another 8 and then rest for the remaining eight hours. This is quite an idealistic target since many of us suffer from sleep deprivation. The lack of sleep side effects is many but let's talk about the most common ones.

1. Decreased energy level

Sleep allows our body to regain energy and whenever we don't sleep enough that energy level decreases, and every activity that we do we just can't commit to it fully. This affects our jobs, our daily activities and our overall stamina.

2. Decreased libido

Our libido is conditioned by how rested we are. If we didn't sleep well the night before we are not able to perform sexually to our fullest potential, and if we suffer from sleep deprivation multiple days in a row we can easily lose our sexual appetite.

3. Decreased enthusiasm

You can't be too enthusiastic when you didn't sleep right. You become moody and sometimes even short tempered. When you feel tired and sleepy, you won't be able to enjoy life to the fullest.

4. Depression

Lack of sleep eventually leads to depression. This is a very severe illness that may take years to heal. Never underestimate sleep disorders because they are the number-one cause of most diseases. When you don't sleep enough you feel sad and depressed, and that leads to stress.

There are things that you can do to increase your sleep ability. I'm calling it ability because for many of us getting a good night sleep is the most difficult thing to do.

1. Eat right

Eating right means eating healthy food, at least three meals a day, preferably followed by supplements. Always eat your last meal four hours or more before you go to sleep. In this way, you will make sure the digestive processes are over and your sleep won't be hindered by them.

2. Drink a lot of water

Water is vital to our physical and metal balance but most importantly to our intestines. Our intestines use a lot of water in their processes, and if they don't have the right amount they will make us feel a discomfort. If our internal organs get what they need they won't affect our ability to sleep.

3. Practice a sport

Your body cleans itself better when practicing sports. When you have a lot of toxins from your body, you will have a hard time falling asleep, and you might even wake up in the middle of the night. Practice a sport to revitalize your body

4. Maintain healthy relationships

Maintaining healthy relationship is always good for our mental state. If you have nothing to worry about you will have an easier time falling as sleep. Avoid getting into unnecessary arguments with your loved ones and when conflicts arise to try to solve them on the spot, don't let any tensed situation sip into your unconscious.

By living a healthy life your sleep will help you rejuvenate. Often the issues are within our lifestyles, and sleep deprivation is a cause not the effect of living our lives the way we do. So, let's look at our lives first before popping pills.

Popping pills is an option. However, learning about lack of sleep side effects will surely help you overcome your sleep disorders. Get more information at: Lack Of Sleep Symptoms blog.

How to Get Rid of Pimples Overnight Without Side Effects

There are several different methods for treating pimples, either natural home-made remedies or conventional over-the-counter medicines. Preventing pimples is often the best course of action, yet preventing the outbreak of pimples isn't always possible, so in the event of an emergency, you will need to find an effective solution to get rid of pimples quickly, and preferably overnight.

You can attempt a variety of treatments at home, with the more tried and tested home-based remedies consisting of -

Ice - Ice is one of the more effective remedies for getting rid of pimples overnight. You just need to wrap an ice cube (crushed or whole) in a thin cloth and gently apply that to the pimples on the face - leaving in place for approx 20 to 30 seconds. Repeat this process several times a day to help with reducing the signs of swelling as the ice freezes the pores and removes the oil and dirt easily.

Tea Tree Oil - A simple-to-use and effective solution for mild cases of pimples, tea tree oil is a great home remedy, which just needs to be applied at night after cleansing the face.

Toothpaste - A popular and well-known home-based remedy for clearing pimples. Using plain white toothpaste (avoid the gel-type pastes), apply a small drop of paste to each of the pimples just before bedtime, with the toothpaste left in place until the morning. After washing the face the next morning, you should see a noticeable improvement in the size and redness of the pimples. Toothpaste can be used at anytime of the day, it doesn't need to be left until bed time, but just make sure that when applied, it remains in place for at least 30 to 45-minutes.

Steaming - Use steam as a non-aggressive method to remove dirt, dust and oil from pores. Let the steam do its work for 2 to 3 minutes, than afterwards rinse the face with tepid water - applying an oil free moisturizer after a steaming session can help to place the lost moisture.

Lemon Juice - Similar to tea tree oil, freshly squeezed lemon juice is a terribly simple, yet effective method for curing pimples at night whilst you sleep. Just cleaning the face as normal at night, than apply the juice to the pimples, leaving it to dry overnight.

Honey and Cinnamon - Mix the honey and cinnamon together to create a pleasant smelling paste, this is then applied to the face just before bed time, leaving it in place overnight. In the morning make sure to wash the face well as this combination of ingredients is going to be very sticky.

If you would prefer to take your pimple cleansing routine a step further, you can try some of the over-the-counter medications for cleaning mild cases of pimples overnight. Some of the more popular choices consist of -

Benzoyl Peroxide or Salicylic based products - A number of highly recommended medicines are available to purchase to help in cleaning up a pimple prone complexion. Avoid over applying these types of products and make sure to abide by the instructions detailed on the packaging. Popular brands include Clearasil with their Acne Treatment Cream, which is a powerful formulation for fighting pimples or Noxzema with their Clean Blemish Control Daily Scrub, which helps to quickly dry up active pimples as well as to prevent new pimples developing.

The Amazing Effects of Using Niacinamide Serum for Younger Healthier Looking Skin

The skin is a very important organ in the body. In fact, it is the largest organ in the body and therefore it should be treated with as much importance as possible. If the skin is vulnerable, then the whole body is vulnerable and therefore the person's general health will be compromised. Maintaining a healthy skin is no easy task. It takes a lot of discipline and devotion to maintain this.

There are many benefits that come with a well-toned and good-looking skin. This is the reason why many people go for skin care products that are made to improve the appearance of the skin. There are very many skin care products that are known to work very effectively in keeping the skin healthy and good-looking. On the other hand, there are some skin care products that are known to cause undesirable effects on some skin types. This is the reason why it is advisable to exercise a lot of caution when choosing a skin care product to use for your skin.

As time goes, our skins need more and more attention. This can be said to be due to the effect of UV rays from the sun. To ensure that your skin retains its natural glow and attractiveness, it is recommended that you find one good skin care product that you will use.

Niacinamide Serum is one of the leading skin care products that are known to produce very impressive results. This serum works on almost all the skin types and this explains why it is very popular. It removes blemishes from the skin, moisturizes it and leaves it smooth and attractive. Niacinamide Serum is made from Vitamin B3 hence it is a natural product. This explains its ability to be used on many skin types since it has no chemicals that are going to leave the skin dry and vulnerable.

When compared to many other skin care creams, Niacinamide Serum comes top because of its composition. It contains the strongest possible concentrations of active ingredients that are going to produce fast and impressive results without harming the skin. It works by strengthening the skin immunity to ensure that it is resistant to damage by the harmful rays from the sun and other aspects. This natural immunity normally deteriorates with age but consistent use of the serum will ensure that your skin remains healthy and immune. It is an ideal treatment for hyperpigmentation, skin dryness, roughness and other skin conditions caused by age.

In addition to correcting the pigmentation problems, Niacinamide Serum can be used to improve the appearance of the skin by removing fine lines. This will save you the money that you would have invested in a wrinkle remover since it produces the same results.

As much as we would like to deny it, we all need a skin care product at some point in our lives. The earlier we start the better it will be for us since we will not be correcting big defects. Invest in this serum for your skin and with time you will see impressive results.

Kidney Stent - Side Effects and Complications

A kidney stent is a hollow tubular structure which is medically used to drain the kidney when there is an obstruction in the flow of urine from the kidneys into the bladder. Such obstructions can arise due to various conditions like kidney stones, tumors, blood clots, postsurgical swelling or a narrowing of the ureter which are a pair of muscular tubes connecting the kidneys to the urinary bladder. Based on the severity of the obstruction these stents are either placed for a few days or weeks or may be required for a longer time period extending to several months.

Side effects and complications arising due to the placement of a kidney stent vary randomly from one user to the other. Many patients can feel the tube inside them almost all the time while others claim to have no sensation of the inserted material in their body. Before undergoing a kidney stent placement it is vital for a patient to be aware of the various side effects and complications that are generally associated with it. A basic understanding of the symptoms will help patients to know when it is essential to contact a doctor and address health issues immediately.

Some of the most common side effects observed in patients using a kidney stent include:

Bladder Irritation- Many patients experience bladder irritation which is mainly because of the sensation of the stent which gives a feeling of discomfort and an impression of emptying out the bladder incompletely.

Frequent Urination And Incontinence- Experiencing an increased frequency in urination is one of the most common side effects and is also accompanied by urinary incontinence in women.

Discomfort and Pain- A feeling of discomfort and pain is also a general side effect of having a kidney stent placement especially in the initial days of the procedure.

Bleeding- The trace of blood appearing in urine is a normal side effect which mostly disappears or decreases after the first few days of the placement. Drinking increased amount of water and avoiding intense physical activities help in eliminating this symptom to a large extent.

When one or more of the following complications arise due to kidney stent placement it is necessary to get in touch with your doctor as soon as possible:

Haematuria - While finding a few traces of blood in urine is a common side effect of a stent placement it is important to get medical advice if this symptom increases in frequency as well as in volume.

Excessive Pain- If you are experiencing excessive pain in the flank or lower abdominal area which becomes unbearable during urination it might be caused due to the dislodgment of the stent which will require immediate medical attention and readjustment.

Urinary tract infections- Patients who have a stent in their kidneys should be especially vigilant about sudden fevers and an increased sensation of pain or a burning feeling while urination. These symptoms can be indicative of a urinary tract infection which can develop due to the displacement of the stent or other secondary causes.

If you or your family member already have or are undergoing a kidney stent placement it is important to be aware of the various side effects and complications that can arise due to this procedure. While the side effects usually decrease during course of time and completely disappear after the stent is removed, make sure that you get in touch with your doctor as soon as any of the above mentioned complications surface.

Summary - Common side effects of kidney stent use include bladder irritation, urinary problems, pain and bleeding while rare complications like severe haematuria, excessive pain and urinary tract infections can also arise in some patients. While the complications need to be addressed immediately, with proper medical care the side effects reduce considerably after the first few days of the stent insertion.
