Relieving Stress Migraines and Related Headaches

Stress headaches usually manifest themselves as stress induced migraines and are one of the most common forms of migraine as well as one of the most dangerous. Modern day life is stressful, it is a fact, but while it is impossible to avoid stress it is not impossible to handle it and the ability to handle it will reduce the incidence of stress induced migraines.

Regular migraines from stress can lead to other health complications and have a terribly draining effect on your body. That is why it is crucial to learn how to deal with them effectively. We all know that life can be stressful enough without adding the fear of a crippling migraine into the mix.

Migraine sufferers are usually more emotional than others and this is reflected in their ability to deal with stressful situations. When stressful situations arise chemicals are released into the brain to help the body deal with it and when this happens it causes blood vessels in the head to dilate and then expand and contract, thus leading to pulsating stress migraines.

Having the ability to control emotions during a stressful situation is therefore crucial reducing the chances of a migraine attack. There are a few simple stress relief techniques and treatments which can help reduce the pain of a stress induced migraine.

A chiropractic adjustment is a great way to relieve stress as stress is physically manifested in muscle tension and with a reduction in that tension comes a reduction in stress induced migraines. If it is possible a hot bath is a very effective way to relax the body and reduce stress. During a migraine attack it can be equally useful as it reduces stress levels which are often the cause of the migraine attack. At the same time as the hot bath relaxes the tension in the body's muscles, place a cold flannel over your head and wrap one around your neck to reduce the pain of the migraine headache.

Niacin, also known as Vitamin B-3, has been shown to be useful in preventing the symptoms of migraines. It is a natural relaxant which can be used as a sleep aid, to treat depression and reduce stress and anxiety.

Other basic stress relief techniques such as taking deep, measured breaths and counting to ten before facing a stressful situation can be invaluable in calming yourself and reducing the stress your body and mind is placed under. This will in turn mean that you are more relaxed and so less likely to trigger a migraine attack.

There are of course a great many stress relief techniques, many more of which can be found here and each one can help to reduce the incidence of stress induced migraines.

Exploring Hypnagogic Hallucinations and Other Sleep Related Issues

Exploding head syndrome and other sleep problems may occur in different stages in life. For those having trouble finding a good night rest, it might be best to know what these concerns entail. Listed here are symptoms and possible actions worth doing.

Sleep Hallucinations

The condition has sufferers seeing imaginary things or having false perceptions. Hypnagogic hallucinations normally occur between the border of wakefulness and sleep. Various associated imageries or sensations can accompany it. Many affected individuals wind up having extremely lucid feelings and seeing images. A common example is seeing Technicolor displays similar to a kaleidoscope.

There are also those who report seeing frightening images. These include gigantic spiders on their bedroom walls or envisioning they have somehow shrunk. Many also note a feeling as though they are afloat a pool. Voices coming from nowhere are also possible so hearing audible whispers may also happen. All these are realistic for sufferers since tactile, sensory, and kinetic senses are involved.

Hypnagogic hallucinations may lead many to bolt right up from bed. Some who fall asleep and experience it immediately may also wind up and stay wide awake. People who do so may also report trouble sleeping since they are afraid of encountering the same concern. For this reason, the problem can cause sleep deprivation.

Exploding head syndrome is a form of sleep disorder called parasomnia. Many who experience it report it occurs as a person drifts off to sleep. Loud crashes, banging, ringing sounds, or booming noises typically characterize the symptoms. Various sufferers also mistake it for headaches. There are also those who may imagine they feel pain.

What About Bed Bugs?

Bed bug bites symptoms on the body are trickier to detect due to problems with misdiagnosis. Typically, however, bite patterns of fours will appear on the skin. This pattern, also called the "breakfast, lunch dinner", appear in a straight line. It shows the feeding pattern of the insects, but may at times mimic other symptoms like scabies and allergic rashes.

Check your mattresses, especially if you love sleeping naked, for bed bug presence. Dark spots in certain areas of the sheets may mean bed bug wastes. Carpet users may also use carpet tape to trap the bugs. Lay out strips on your bed areas or floor covered areas and leave it there for a few days. Bed bugs will likely get trapped if they are in your house.

What to Do

Proper action depends on sleep deprivation symptoms felt. Signs like irritability, tiredness, social ineptness, extreme stress, memory loss, bad concentration, and appetite changes may need immediate attention. Irritability in this case can lead to boiling over the smallest thing. This is something difficult to control and may affect ability to function at work. Other symptoms may suddenly arrive causing you to lose focus and affect your relationships.

Visit a doctor soon in case you notice any or all of these changes. Only a physician can diagnose the next medical steps you should take. In case of bed bug presence, find a reliable pest control company. Having a professional to manage the problem may be the most effective way to go.

Breathing Related Sleep Disorders - Causes and Treatment

Introduction

Sleep disorders (sleep apnea) are among the fastest rising ailments, affecting all age groups from children, young, upwardly mobile to working professionals and supermoms (juggling to balance between professional and personal life) of today. Breathing related anomalies is one of the many factors linked with sleep disorder. In this the external breathing (respiratory muscular movement/change in lung volume) is affected due to imbalance in the respiratory control system of the brain. It adversely affects the physical and mental health of a patient.

Causes

The breathing problem, as discussed generates when the respiratory control part of the brain that actively monitors the pauses (apnea) of breathing is not functioning well due to the disparity in the blood carbon dioxide level and the neurological feedback mechanism. Scientist researches show that caffeine (tea and coffee), cigarette' component like nicotine, tar, benzene and benzo(a)pyrene, along with depression, anxiety, and low social interaction followed by lifestyle choices - like long and stressful hours at work and unhealthy eating habits are the responsible factors.

Symptoms and Signs

Symptoms of breathing sleep disorder, if left undiagnosed for long, are clearly visible through the body language of the patient. Daytime fatigue, a slower reaction time, and vision problems are quite common that translate into his behavior instantly, and he/she may become irritating and violent. Inadequacy of oxygen in the blood also affects the brain functionality. The capability to execute tasks, pay attention, work and process information, learn and interpret subject/situation, etc. gets badly affected.

Diagnosis and Lab findings

Initial diagnosis involves documentation of the disease that may include family history, life-style, symptoms, general physical exam, and family members' opinion. At times, doctors may recommend going for Polysomnography (PSG) test. It is usually carried out by seasoned technician at Sleep Labs. Actually, this is a multi-parameter test that measures the respiratory airflow and effort through mouth and nose and oxygen level in blood, along with the activity of brain (EEG), eye, (EOG), muscle, heart (ECG), etc. Medicine doctor interprets the PSG test (s) to decide whether you have sleep apnea, if yes, then the doctor will correlate various values, to conclude the cause and severity of the problem and method of treatment.

Treatment and Prevention

Relaxation training

The patient is asked to sequentially tense and relax the body's major muscle groups while concentrating on and contrasting sensations of tension and relaxation.

Cognitive therapy

Identify and correct inappropriate thoughts and beliefs that may contribute to sleeping disorder. Social interaction, entertainment, stress-free work environment, etc. help to recover/avoid sleeping disorder.

Stimulus control (SC)

Stressful situations or watching television, etc. can interfere with the smooth sleep process. So the patient is advised to reserve bedroom for sleep, sex, and dressing only. Also should change life-style to have proper sleep at night.

Sleep hygiene

Sleep hygiene refers to practices, habits, and environmental factors that are important for getting sound sleep. The patient is advised to sleep in proper position, avoid the intake of caffeine, nicotine, and alcohol, sleeping pills, and other sedatives.

Device Control

Sometimes medical equipment can be used to keep the passage of air open during the sleep.

Have Acne No More: Treating Pregnancy Related Acne

One in five of women between the ages of 25 and 40 suffer from acne. In many cases, their condition is due to the hormonal activity associated with pregnancy. This presents special difficulties because many of the most popular acne remedies are not advised for use by pregnant women and nursing mothers because they could harm the unborn baby or the young child. Treatment of pregnancy related acne must deal with the pregnant woman's condition and protect her baby.

Alternative remedies

Over the years, many natural products have been proposed as acne treatments including honey, cinnamon, mint and lemon or orange derivatives such as juice and peel. There are a host of others. The ingredients are prepared as a cream, paste or lotion that is applied to the skin. These may be worth considering for treating the symptoms of pregnancy related acne as they have few, if any, side effects. There is, however, no clinical evidence supporting their effectiveness, either.

Homeopathy

Some people believe in homeopathic treatments in which a natural substance that in a healthy person would produce symptoms like those of the disease itself is diluted until all traces of the original active ingredients are lost. The adherents claim the resulting potion "remembers" that the active ingredients were once present. Scientific research has found homeopathic remedies ineffective, or at least no better than a placebo, and their postulated mechanisms of action implausible. Because of the extremely high dilutions, most homeopathic remedies are, at least, harmless if ineffective.

How then can a pregnant woman or nursing mother treat her acne in a way that is not harmful to her unborn baby or child?

Treating the causes, not the symptoms

The answer lies in understanding where the cause of pregnancy starts. It starts inside the woman's body. Her acne outbreaks are triggered by hormonal activity associated with pregnancy. An imbalance has developed in how her hormones are regulated causing excess sebum to be secreted and inflammation in blocked pores.

The imbalance also contributes to a build up of toxins within her body, which are eliminated through the skin. This method of elimination is another cause of her acne outbreaks.

Her condition has to be treated insider her body. Her diet and what she drinks are fundamental to treating the root cause of her condition.

What is good for the baby is good for the mother

The key to tackling her hormonal imbalance and the build up of toxins is to have a healthy balanced diet. She will have received sound dietary advice from her midwife or doctor, but her diet should also avoid processed foods and snacks. Apart from their high saturated fat and sodium content, these foods are source of the toxin build up she is trying to eliminate.

She should also drink plenty of water each day. This will keep her body properly hydrated as well as having other general health benefits. It will improve the appearance of her complexion. It will also help her to eliminate the toxins through her kidneys.

Over time, this natural and safe method of treating the root cause of her pregnancy related acne will give the clear complexion she wants and she will have acne no more.

Robert Reddin cured his acne by changing his diet and adopting an holistic approach to acne treatment. Find out how you can get clear skin and keep it clear permanently by Clicking here. http://acnenomore.biz/
